Our goal is to connect artists who may not typically work together due to gentrification. We are reuniting our village through the arts.

The Sawubona Cross-Cultural Festival celebrates and uplifts the unique voices of the African diaspora. Anchored in the Zulu philosophy of mutual recognition, “I see you, and by seeing you, I recognize and acknowledge your humanity.” The festival serves as a vibrant tapestry of performance, visual art, and community education This intergenerational event offers a space for diverse communities of color to share the energy and traditions they bring to the Pacific Northwest.

Attendance is FREE, but space is limited to 300 guests. We encourage all attendees to register in advance to ensure entry and to receive critical event-day logistics.

We curate creative works and classes that empower, educate, and transform.
